This year’s A.M. Phillip Trucktech Snowman Rally will partner with Carbon Positive Motorsport for the third year. The rally will carbon offset organisers vehicles emissions, and offer competitors carbon offsetting on the event.
This year’s event moved from its traditional start of season date to October and has attracted a strong entry of over 70 competitors, including Carbon Positive Motorsport ambassador Jock Armstrong, who leads the field away in his Skoda Fabia.
The event will use Carbon Positive Motorsport's 200% carbon offsetting event package for the first time. This immediately offsets 100% of the carbon emissions of those competitors who have included carbon offsetting in their entry, with a further 100% of their carbon footprint being offset in the future using a local world class carbon offsetting project based at Loch Ness.
Speaking ahead of the event Carbon Positive Motorsport founder Paul Glass commented, "We're delighted to continue our partnership with the Highland Car Club and the iconic Snowman Rally. It’s a great credit to the organisers that they have been able to run the event on a new date following the initial cancellation of the rally.
"To have been able to attract such a strong and quality entry shows how popular the event is. We would like to extend our thanks to the competitors who have supported the event's environmental roadmap by including carbon offsetting in their entry. Good luck to all for a safe and fast day's competition." The rally will take place this weekend, 19 October 2024, and is based at the Black Isle Showground near Muir of Ord. Snowman Rally Clerk of the Course, Andy Jardine, said “I’m delighted to be able to share that A.M. Phillip Trucktech have agreed to Sponsor the Snowman Rally again in 2024.
A.M. Phillip Conon Bridge Truck Sales & Service Centre is just 4 miles from the Service Park and our whole team are buzzing already. They are making plans to attend the event over the weekend with a selection of commercial vehicles to display in the showground. The Snowman is one of the largest sporting events in the Highlands and brings folk in from all over the country; drivers, co-drivers, service crews and spectators."
