Sarah, a long-standing ambassador for Carbon Positive Motorsport, will once again compete in the diesel-powered Class 2 category of the Focus Cup – a single-make championship that places emphasis on driver skill through identical car preparation.
Now entering her third season in the series, Sarah is aiming to capitalise on her experience and consistency to continue progressing at national level. Despite facing personal and technical setbacks throughout 2024, including persistent car issues that made confidence on track a real challenge, Sarah's perseverance paid off.
She ended the season 7th overall in the championship, finished as runner-up in the AM driver standings, and claimed the title of Ladies Cup Champion. In true paddock spirit, she also received the unofficial but much-celebrated award of ‘practical joker of the year’ – a testament to her positivity and presence in the sport.

Reflecting on her year, Sarah said: "The 2024 racing season was packed full of challenges for me both on and off the track. We were chasing down a car gremlin that meant I was having a cutting out issue. It was hard to overcome this mentally and push to the extent that I know I can – myself and the car both had a lot more to give. Despite all of that, I managed to end the season with some silverware, which is incredible, and gives the 2025 season a great vibe to set the year off right."
Sarah’s 2025 campaign got underway at Donington Park, where she finished 26th in a packed grid. With her trademark determination, she is already focused on using the first event as a building block for the season ahead.
This year’s championship marks a significant step forward for the Focus Cup in terms of sustainability. Following a successful trial in 2024, the diesel-powered class now runs on a 100% biodegradable GTL fuel supplied by Anglo American Oil Company. Derived from natural gas, this advanced fuel burns cleaner than traditional diesel, significantly reducing CO and particulate emissions without sacrificing performance. The fuel has been tested to reduce CO emissions by up to 50%, and is already in use at the highest levels of motorsport, including Le Mans-winning prototypes.

For Sarah, sustainability in motorsport is more than just a side note – it’s a core motivation for her continued partnership with Carbon Positive Motorsport: "I’m once again honoured to have the support of CPM. To be able to offset my emissions for the entire season is a great feeling. At some stage, the sport we love will inevitably start to see restrictions due to environmental impact, so it’s a no-brainer for me to try and make a step in the right direction and keep our beloved sport alive. Continuing to race in the diesel class with the new biofuel commitment really ties in the partnership."

With new Class 1 petrol cars also debuting this year – boasting 300bhp and impressive technical upgrades – the 2025 Focus Cup promises to be the most exciting and competitive season yet. For Sarah, having them on the same grid adds to the spectacle: "They’re going to be brilliant to watch. One of those tearing past me is going to be exciting – they’re a real handful compared to what we’re used to!"
Carbon Positive Motorsport is proud to support Sarah’s journey once again this season. Her determination, humour, and unwavering commitment to more sustainable motorsport make her a
perfect ambassador for the values we share.
