At Carbon Positive Motorsport, supporting junior drivers and championships is about more than just motorsport. It’s about shaping a culture where sustainability and competition go hand in hand.
We are proud to support the Junior 1000 Ecosse Championship and the Swift Junior Rallycross Championship, as well as young talents like Zak Furber. By supporting junior drivers we’re not only helping young talent excel, but also leading the charge in sustainability across motorsport.
Driving Change in the Swift Junior Rallycross Championship
We’re proud to partner with the Motorsport UK Swift Junior Rallycross Championship.
Since 2023, we’ve been offsetting all fuel usage for the championship and educating the next generation of drivers, aged 13 to 18, about the importance of reducing their carbon footprint.
This rallycross series provides a fantastic platform for young drivers to develop their skills in a competitive, supportive environment. By integrating sustainability into such a competitive and exhilarating environment, we’re proving that motorsport can and should be environmentally responsible.
Nurturing Talent in the Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge
One of our key initiatives is with the Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge, a rally championship for drivers aged 14 to 17. This series provides a competitive platform where young rally drivers can hone their skills, and prioritises accessibility and development, ensuring these young competitors learn the essentials of rallying in a structured environment.
The Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge isn’t just about competing; it’s about laying the groundwork for a successful future in motorsport. Drivers are guided through licensing requirements, car preparation, and driver development, while also learning the importance of responsibility—both behind the wheel and toward the environment. By supporting these young rally drivers, we’re fostering a generation of competitors who respect the sport and the planet.
Empowering the Next Generation of Rallying Talent
We’re thrilled to support Zak Furber, a 14-year-old driver from Hapton, as he begins his motorsport journey in the F1000 Junior Rally Championship, a stepping stone for young rally drivers in the UK.
"Zak’s journey is one we’re incredibly proud to be part of. By offsetting the carbon emissions from his rallying activities, we’re helping him compete sustainably and set an example for his peers," commented Carbon Positive Motorsport founder, Paul Glass. "His commitment to rallying and the environment aligns perfectly with our vision, and his journey reminds us why we’re committed to fostering talent while ensuring motorsport becomes more sustainable."
Zak has been presented with the F1000 Rally Club Environmental Award for his implementation of carbon offsetting to achieve positive carbon status. "I'm very proud to have received an environmental award from the F1000 Rally Club and from Jonathan Jackson from Motorsport UK, for offsetting the carbon we use while competing in Rallying. This would not be possible without the support of Carbon Positive Motorsport." Zak said, adding "I hope that one day all our sport can be considered carbon neutral and that we can all be positive towards our environment."
Shaping Motorsport’s Green Future
Our work with junior drivers and championships highlights how sustainability can be integrated into every aspect of motorsport. By supporting these young competitors, we’re helping to shape a green future where motorsport remains exhilarating, competitive, and environmentally responsible.
We’re excited to see where this journey takes us - and the next generation of motorsport talent. If you share our vision, we’d love for you to join us. Together, we can ensure that motorsport thrives not just today but for years to come.
