Matthew Jackson becomes Carbon Positive Ambassador

Carbon Positive Motorsport announce Matthew Jackson as one of their brand ambassadors for 2022. The multiple championship class champion returns to the Welsh National Rally Championship with a new Fiesta R2T, and the goal to help make motorsport sustainable.

Matthew Jackson and Carbon Positive Motorsport announce their partnership for the 2022 season, with the shared purpose to help make motorsport sustainable through reducing its long-term environmental impact.

Matthew supported Carbon Positive Motorsport as they launched their brand during the 2021 season. Our goal is to raise awareness within motorsport for the need to take positive action to help make the sport and the environment sustainable for future generations to enjoy.

Paul Glass, founding director of Carbon Positive Motorsport said: "Matthew is not only a seriously talented driver, with quite an incredible track record of awards and championship success, but is also someone we recognise as being highly aware and active in the drive to reduce the environmental impact of the sport. His passion extends beyond his own driving but also to the wellbeing of events and championships, where he fully recognises the risk our sport faces today.

"We first started working with Matthew last season, on the Cambrian Rally, and we were instantly impressed by his maturity and professionalism. He has been incredibly supportive to us, and his commitment and enthusiasm to making motorsport sustainable is a big strength.

Steve Smith, director of Carbon Positive Motorsport added, "It’s great to see Matthew return to a championship campaign, this new car will really highlight his skill in what is a very competitive class. We are really proud to be associated with him, in what we hope will be a long partnership not just on the stages, but also working together on initiatives that can further improve how the sport and the environment can benefit."

When asked about the need for reducing the sport's environmental impact, Matthew said: "It's extremely important that we are all conscious about the environment around us. In rallying, we are fortunate enough to be able to compete in some of the absolute best environments and natural surroundings. However, we have to do everything we can to not only protect these environments to sustain our use of them, but also use our motorsport to promote a ‘cleaner’ lifestyle, but also to aid environmental programmes.

"I'm very excited to work with Carbon Positive Motorsport once again in 2022, the new car and championship campaign are the perfect platform to showcase our message and feelings on reducing the overall CO2 footprint form our rallying activities."
