Jersey Rally return for Ashleigh Morris

Carbon Positive Motorsport ambassador Ashleigh Morris is set to return to Jersey Rally this weekend.

Ashleigh fulfilled a childhood dream by competing in the rally for the first time last year, following many years of family holidays on the island as a child.

Ashleigh and co-driver Emma were sitting third in class B on last year’s event before crashing into a wall on one of the night stages. The team set to work to repair the car overnight, enabling Ashleigh and Emma to enter the Trophy Rally on the Saturday, in which they finished a respectable tenth overall.

This year Ashleigh will be co-driven by Martin Haggett, on his first visit to Jersey. She said, "I’m delighted to be back competing on Jersey. I have such happy memories from summer holidays here and I loved competing on the rally last year. It was really special to return to the island, and the stages were great – really technical and they suited me and my car well. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and so many people helped us out after we damaged the car, to ensure we could get going again the next day.

“Obviously I didn’t get the result I wanted last year, so this year the aim is to have a clean run and bring the car back in one piece! I’ve had a quieter season this year and haven’t driven the car since we competed on the Isle of Man in May so I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel.”

Carbon Positive Motorsport will be offsetting the carbon footprint from Ashleigh’s fuel usage on the rally, as well as fuel usage from the recce and from the team’s travel to the island.

Ashleigh said, “I’ve worked with Carbon Positive for three years now, and I’m really passionate about the work they do to offset the impact of motorsport and promote a sustainable future for our sport. It’s really important to me to be able to give something back.”

Carbon Positive Motorsport Director, Steve Smith, added "It's great to see Ashleigh back out for the first time since the Manx Rally. We've been proud to support Ashleigh since we started our positive about motorsport initiative, and we are delighted to be able to use our new 200% offsetting to take care of all of Ashleigh's fuel usage."

Ashleigh is also sponsored by Morris Lubricants, Petrolhead Perfume and Demon Tweeks Motorsport.

At Carbon Positive Motorsport we've enabled offsetting for more than a million kilograms of CO2 emissions since 2022, so why not join us to make motorsport sustainable by offsetting your motorsport season?
