The rally began with the Prologue, a short but critical stage that set the starting order and offered competitors a chance to fine-tune their vehicles. The opening stage gave a tantalising glimpse of the adventure to come, and now the competition moves to Stage 1 in Bisha, Saudi Arabia.

With 12 gruelling stages ahead, the rally promises to test the endurance, skill, and determination of all participants. Stage 1 is a significant challenge, spanning 413 kilometres of special stage through the rugged terrain around Bisha. At the heart of Carbon Positive Motorsport’s involvement are Tim and Tom Coronel, the remarkable sibling duo competing in the T1+ class. Piloting their Century CR7 4x4 vehicle, car number 237, the Coronel brothers are well-prepared to face the intense challenges of Dakar 2025.

The Prologue provided a solid foundation for the stages ahead, allowing them to confirm their strategy and performance. Their teamwork, resilience, and experience make them formidable contenders, and CPM is proud to support them and their exceptional team.

For Tim, the shakedown felt like they were never away from the Dakar Rally. "It was great to be in the seat again, it felt like we were here yesterday. The car goes a lot easier, the four-wheel drive really pulls you through the corners. We were right on it and I couldn't go much faster."
