British Endurance GT Racer becomes Carbon Positive

Michael Macpherson joins with Carbon Positive Motorsport as their first brand ambassador in circuit racing, with the common goal to help make motorsport more sustainable.

Team Hard British Endurance GT driver Michael Macpherson will join Carbon Positive Motorsport as their first brand ambassador in circuit racing, as the company expands its team of ambassadors across all UK motorsport disciplines.

Carbon Positive Motorsport are the first dedicated carbon offsetting provider for motorsport and have provided carbon offsetting to a number of leading competitors and rising talents across all motorsport disciplines since their launch.

The company, who provide carbon offsetting for motorsport events, teams, competitors, and spectators, will provide carbon positive levels of offsetting for all Michael's competition fuel consumption.

This level of offsetting will provide 25% more carbon offsetting in the future than he generates through his fuel usage, and will use UK certified rewilding-based projects that provide greater environmental benefits than merely offsetting alone.

During 2022 Michael has already grabbed attention, most recently with an excellent victory in the British Endurance GT series.

Michael Macpherson said, ‘’I'm very excited to begin this partnership with Carbon Positive Motorsport in my British Endurance GT debut season, our early success in the championship gives us a platform to showcase the initiative and mitigate the overall C02 footprint from our racing activities. I’m very much looking forward to working with the team for 2022 and beyond.’’

Carbon Positive Motorsport director, Steve Smith added, ‘’We're delighted to support Michael this year, in what I hope will become a long relationship that benefits Michael’s career and helps strengthen his attractiveness and value to future partners’’.

Carbon Positive Motorsport founder, Paul Glass agrees. ‘’I’ve been hugely impressed by what Michael has already achieved in the sport, with all the challenges that he has been presented with – it’s clear he is a very talented driver, who has great potential for future success.

"He displays a professionalism beyond his years, and a genuine passion for motorsport that we are delighted to be associated with. He embodies many of the values that we established our company with, and joins an existing group of brand ambassadors for us that include several champions and some of the next generation of talent who will I’m sure become future champions’.

"I'm especially pleased that through Michael we will have a presence on the racetracks across the UK, where many of the world class carbon offsetting projects we use are located, specifically in the Scottish Highlands where Michael lives and where his career started.’’

Michael's next race will be the BEC Round 3, at Snetterton 300 Circuit on the 14th of May.

It only costs a little to make a big difference for the sport, so whether you're a competitor or spectator, why not join with us to help make motorsport sustainable.
