Ashleigh Morris is to offset her whole teams travel and event-based carbon emissions for the Roberts Garages Jersey Rally.

Carbon Positive Motorsport brand ambassador Ashleigh Morris will be returning to action on next weekend's Roberts Garages Jersey Rally. Instead of undertaking a full championship season in 2023, Ashleigh decided to use the season to compete on selected international and national events, and has long-held an ambition to compete on the Jersey Rally.

The Jersey rally represents a big logistics operation however, as her G&M Mechanical Services run team have to transport the service vehicle and her Fiesta R200 from Perth in Scotland. With the added travel from England for herself and co-driver Emma Morrison, the event brings a high carbon footprint that Ashleigh is determined to mitigate.

“I’m delighted that together with Carbon Positive Motorsport, we will be carbon offsetting not just my rally emissions but also our travel to and from the event, for myself and the car and team. It’s important we all do what we can to ensure a sustainable future for rallying.

"I’ve always wanted to compete on Jersey - I used to visit the island for summer holidays with my family every year and I have so many happy memories there. I’ve heard so many positive things about the rally and I’m really excited to be taking part, in what I hope will be the first time of many!”

Co-driver Emma Morrison added "We are both looking forward to participating in the rally for the first time. With it being so far for our whole team to travel it's great to know that we can offset our carbon emissions. This initiative is such a simple way for us to show that motorsports can become more sustainable."

Paul Glass, founder of Carbon Positive Motorsport commented, "It’s a great example of Ashleigh and her team’s commitment to mitigating their competition carbon footprint. It's also fantastic that they are supporting the rally organisers committment to reducing the environmental impact of the event.

"There has already been an impressive sign up to our initiative from competitors, and I would like to thank everyone who has chosen to support the event in a similar way already. Everything we can do to mitigate our carbon footprint contributes to helping make our sport and the environment more sustainable for future generations to enjoy."
