Ambassador Sarah Hall plans Focus Cup return in 2024

January 26, 2024

Carbon Positive Motorsport Ambassador, Sarah Hall, will once again race in the Focus Cup for 2024, as the series moves towards using biodiesel.

The dust has barely settled on what Sarah describes as an unbelievable debut year, and her thoughts are already turning towards what 2024 might bring.

"I had an amazing opportunity to race my first full season with the Focus Cup and with the support of Carbon Positive Motorsport I could really get stuck in, knowing I was making the right choices." she said, "2024 was not a given, but I’m incredibly grateful to be out on track with the Focus Cup again, this time knowing a bit more of what to expect and with a little more experience under my belt."

Carbon Positive Motorsport Ambassador, Sarah Hall, will once again race in the Focus Cup for 2024, as the series moves towards using bio-diesel.

Focus Cup currently run a fleet of diesel vehicles and have looked at what changes they can make to reduce their environmental impact, and the 2024 season will see them debuting Anglo American 100% biodegradable diesel which can reduce CO2 emissions by 50% and massively reduces black smoke.

Biodiesel is a renewable, biodegradable fuel manufactured domestically from vegetable oils, animal fats, or recycled restaurant grease. Biodiesel meets both the biomass-based diesel and overall advanced biofuel requirement of the Renewable Fuel Standard.

Sarah added, "to have the support, once again, from Carbon Positive, is a real honour and makes the decision to race an easy one. To be able to offset my emissions for the entire season is a great feeling. At some stage the sport we love will inevitably start to see restrictions due to environmental impact, so it’s a no-brainer for me to try and make a step in the right direction and keep our beloved sport alive."

Carbon Positive Motorsport Director Steve Smith is delighted to support Sarah for a second year. "Once again we will support Sarah Hall by offsetting all of her Focus Cup racing fuel usage in 2024. We are very excited to support Sarah, especially as we are moving more and more towards educating and offsetting the racing fraternity. We have great support for UK based rallies, but we can do so much more for the racing community."

Carbon Positive Motorsport enables competitors to make a positive difference to the environment, helping anyone in motorsport to make a sustainable and promotable positive environmental impact.

Steve Smith sees their work as crucial to the future of motorsport: "Many years ago when I was at a Prodrive management training course, one of the tutors asked me a question, 'what do you want to be remembered for?' At the time I did not know the answer, today I do: to leave a Carbon Motorsport Positive legacy!

"We should all try and consider our Motorsport carbon footprint and it's up to all of us within Motorsport to start somewhere."

Everyone at Carbon Positive Motorsport wishes Sarah a safe and successful 2024 in all of her racing activities. You can follow Sarah on her social media below:
