Former triple British Rally Champion Matt Edwards entered his fourth year as a brand ambassador for Carbon Positive Motorsport, with an impressive second place on last weekend’s West Cork Rally in his NPL Rally Hire and C&M Motorsport Sales Rally 2 Fiesta.
After a disappointing Galway Rally retirement, Matt who was co-driven by Dave Moynihan, was pleased to have run his own rally and to have built his pace up over the gruelling event, going on to set three fastest times on the last day.
Matt's entry in the Irish Rally Championship as a Carbon Positive Motorsport brand ambassador, will see him compete with 200% of his carbon emissions offset on all events this season, with the intention of raising awareness of our new international offsetting packages, which are now available to events and competitors outside the UK.
The partnership will also include the launch of a new range of Matt Edwards Positive about Motorsport clothing, which will be made from 100% recycled materials, as well as Matt supporting a number of initiatives and events on behalf of Carbon Positive Motorsport.
Paul Glass, founding Director of Carbon Positive Motorsport commented, "We are delighted to continue to work with Matt, and really pleased to see that he has a competitive drive this season to match his skills. Matt has been an amazing ambassador for us from the very start and his campaign in the Irish Rally Championship is very important for us, as it will help raise awareness in Ireland for our initiative and the services we can offer outside of the UK.
"We have a lot of positive announcements to follow in the coming days and it will be a really exciting year ahead for us, as we aim to make a step change in how we can all make motorsport and the environment more sustainable for future generations to enjoy."
